Dr Tony Kuo graduated from the University of Otago, School of Medicine, Dunedin, New Zealand in 1999. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery in 2009.

Dr Kuo was the first surgeon to successfully perform microvascular free tissue transfer to reconstruct facial defects after cancer excision on the Central Coast. He specialises in both adult and children’s general ear nose and throat problems, including treatment of ear infection, snoring, sinus infection, breathing, voice and swallowing.

Dr Kuo is a senior consultant Otolaryngologist at Gosford Private and Public Hospitals as well as having accreditation at Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital, Chatswood Private Hospital and St George Private Hospital.

Dr Kuo consults at Erina and in the Macquarie University Clinic, Chatswood.

Dr Kuo was accepted by the world renowned Plastic Surgeon, Professor Fu-Chan Wei, at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Head and Neck Centre in Taiwan for a two-year fellowship to advance his surgical specialty, incorporating management of complex head and neck cancers and reconstruction with microsurgical technique. This includes reconstruction of complex defects of the face, jaw, tongue, throat and neck following cancer surgery or trauma.

Dr Kuo has an interest in academic medicine and has published numerous medical research papers in addition to the authorship of a Head and Neck textbook. He is also a conjoint lecturer for both Macquarie University and Newcastle University Medical School.
