Medical Advisory Committee

Part of our Governance structure, the Medical Advisory Committee includes representatives from each Specialty group.

The Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) consists of:

  • The Chief Executive Officer
  • The Director of Clinical Services
  • The Chief Medical Officer

Representatives from the following specialist groups:

  • Anaesthetics – Dr John Young
  • Cardiology – Dr Brendan Gunalingam
  • Critical Care – Dr Michael Bastick / Dr Sean Kelly
  • Ear, Nose and Throat – Dr Indu Gunawardena (Chairperson)
  • General Surgery – Dr Peter Hamer
  • Obstetrics – Dr Raouf Farag
  • Orthopaedics – Dr Michael Hunter
  • Oncology – Dr Craig Kukard
  • Neurosurgery – Dr Marc Coughlan
  • Urology – Dr Mark Louie-Johnsun
  • Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
  • Gastroenterology – Dr David Gilbert
  • Paediatrics – Dr Pippa Birkin

The Committee is also supported by an Executive Assistant. Meetings are held Quarterly and members are elected at the Annual General Meeting.
