Dr Namrata Nayar is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and has been practising as a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Gosford Private Hospital since 2017. She has also started a clinic at Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital since 2023. She works as a part-time Staff Specialist in General Medicine at Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), Wyong Hospital.

Dr Nayar graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from India and completed her Advanced Training in Medical Oncology at the North Coast Cancer Institute and Central Coast Cancer Centre, Gosford Hospital. She has a strong interest in Clinical Research having completed a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology (MAMCE-03) at the University of Sydney.

Dr Nayar was appointed at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, University of Sydney, where she was the Research Fellow for the Australia and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP) and the Australasian Gastrointestinal Trials Group (AGITG) and played an integral part in development, implementation and conduct of Phase II and III clinical trials.

Dr Nayar has worked as a Medical Oncologist at Calvary Mater Newcastle where she was involved as a site Co-Investigator in multiple pharmaceutical and collaborative group sponsored phase 1b, 2 and 3 International, multi-centre, clinical trials. She has widely published in peer reviewed journals and has presented posters at multiple National and International Annual Scientific Meetings such as MOGA, COSA, ASCO GU, AGITG.

She is a current associate member of ASCO, ESMO, AGITG, ANZUP, TOGA, BCT. She is actively involved in quality assurance projects and clinical audits at Wyong Hospital and previously served as an expert steering committee member for the Lookback District Steering Group - SABSI Porta Cath for Hunter New England Local Health District and Calvary Mater Newcastle.

Dr Nayar is a Conjoint Lecturer with the University of Newcastle, and she has a keen interest in teaching medical students, JMOs and provides mentorship and supervision to BPTs preparing for FRACP exams. Dr Nayar is an assessor for Work Based Assessment for AMC candidates.

Dr Nayar participates in the Breast cancer, Lung cancer, Gastro-intestinal cancer, Genitourinary cancer, Skin cancer multidisciplinary meetings at Gosford Public Hospital. She consults at the Gosford Private Consulting Suites and Tuggerah Lakes Private Consulting Suites with admitting rights to Gosford Private Hospital and Wyong Hospital.
