Dr Bagia is dual trained in Medical Oncology and General Medicine with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She has been a Medical Oncologist on the Central Coast since 2015 and is a VMO at Gosford Hospital and the Central Coast Cancer Centre. She is the Head of Department for General Medicine at Royal North Shore Hospital and also Director of Training for the Northern Sydney Coastal Network for General Medicine Advance Training.
She has been a clinical examiner for the FRACP clinical exam since 2010 and was appointed to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians National Examining Panel (NEP) in 2019. Dr Bagia is a panel member for the State-wide Health Education and Training (HETI) Advisory Committee and was an appointed member of the RACP Advance Training Committee for General Medicine from 2016-2020.
Dr Bagia completed her medical degree at Monash University, Victoria. She completed a 2-year fellowship at the NHMRC, as the Australasian Lung Cancer Clinical Trials Fellow. During this time, she also completed a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology at Sydney University and a Diploma of Palliative Care with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Dr Bagia’s specific clinical interests include Breast and Gynaecological cancers, Head and Neck cancer and Lung cancer. She attends regular multidisciplinary meetings for each respective tumour group. She has been Principal Investigator on various Breast and Lung Cancer Clinical Trials and continues to take an active role in clinical trials and research through the Central Coast Cancer Centre Clinical Trials Unit.
