Dr Merei specialises in General Surgery with an interest in laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, including gall bladder surgery, bowel cancers, gastroscopies and colonoscopies, abdominal wall and groin hernias.

He is a specialist General and Laparoscopic surgeon at Gosford Public, Wyong Public, North Shore Private and Westmead Private Hospitals.

Dr Merei has been a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons since 2010, and a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of Glasgow since 1990.

He completed his Advanced General Surgical training at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney and was a Fellow in Paediatric Surgery at Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne.
