Dr Karl Herba is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Gosford Private Hospital.

Having graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 2004 with a Doctor of Medicine, Dr Herba completed specialist training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology in 2009.

Dr Herba is a subspecialist in Therapeutic Endoscopy and has particular expertise in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP), as well as gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He has completed two advanced fellowships at leading centres in his field, including St George Hospital in Sydney and Sir Charles Gardner Hospital in Perth.

He currently holds an appointment as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Gosford Hospital and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr Herba is widely published and has presented his work at both national and international conferences. His research interests include Biliary and Pancreatic Disease, Cholangioscopy, bowel cancer screening, and therapeutic endoscopy.
