$32m Gosford Private Hospital re-development fuels recruitment opportunities in the region

As the hospital prepares to commence operations in its newly developed spaces, it is seeking to expand its team of more than 650 staff and there are opportunities for a broad range of healthcare workers

Gosford Private Hospital is getting closer by the day to completion of the $32m re-development and in preparation has launched a recruitment campaign on the Central Coast.

As the hospital prepares to commence operations in its newly developed spaces, it is seeking to expand its team of more than 650 staff.

There are opportunities for a broad range of healthcare workers according to Director of Clinical Services Jennifer McNamara.

“We know there are a large number of highly skilled health professionals on the Central Coast and we are committed to providing opportunities for locals and attracting new healthcare professionals to the area,” Ms McNamara said.

“By providing employment opportunities locally, we strive keep our talented and skilled community here on the coast, ensuring that local people have access to person-centred care in world class facilities, supported by staff that are invested in their local community.

“Whether you are a nurse, midwife, allied health professional or you have a non-clinical background we have a range of career opportunities available at Gosford Private Hospital and we’d love to welcome more locals to join the team and assist us in continuing to achieve our mission as our facility grows.

There are currently in excess of 30 positions available. Nursing positions are available in medical, surgical, critical care, cardiac catheter lab, operating theatre, maternity and rehabilitation in permanent and casual roles. Non nursing positions are available in hospital services and administration.

Within months, the growing hospital will see the addition of two new operating theatres, the installation of a $3.5m da Vinci Xi Robot as well as expanded surgical bed spaces and the conversion of shared rooms into private rooms. There is also capacity for enhanced space for the future.

So far, a new fit-for-purpose post-operative recovery, day surgery department and a purpose-built maternity ward have been unveiled to the public.

According to Gosford Private Hospital Chief Executive Officer and Healthe Care Australia Regional Manager Matt Kelly, the re-development presents an exciting opportunity for staff, doctors and the Central Coast community.

“It’s an exciting time to join the team at the region’s largest private hospital, offering complex care for residents living in our fast growing central coast communities,” Mr Kelly said.

“Over the last 41 years Gosford Private Hospital has grown alongside the community in the scope of services and opportunities we provide to the region.

“The health sector is the largest employer on the Central Coast and Gosford Private Hospital is proud to be the largest private employer on the Central Coast.”
