Development Hits Milestone For Surgical Patients

The brand new Gosford Private Hospital Day Surgery Unit opened its doors to surgical patients this week, marking a significant milestone in the development process for the Hospital.

The brand new Gosford Private Hospital Day Surgery Unit opened its doors to surgical patients this week, marking a significant milestone in the development process for the Hospital.

While development continues on the Gosford Private Maternity Services ward and expanded recovery areas, new patients were welcomed by Nurse Unit Manager of the Day Surgery Unit, Rachel Vehikite and her team.

“It’s been an exciting week for our team and our patients and I’m pleased to report that the feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive,” Ms Vehikite said.

“This new and improved space is an asset for our Central Coast community and I’m proud to be leading the team that will welcome every surgical patient admission to Gosford Private Hospital.

“While it is the Day Surgery Unit, all surgical patients will enter the hospital through this new and expertly designed space, which allows for greater efficiencies and seamless step down process prior to discharge.

“We also now have a designated infusion suite for our regular infusion and oncology patients where they can receive treatment and recover in privacy.

“This has already been tested out by one of our regular patients with glowing reviews and we are looking forward to welcoming our regular patients into this calm and restorative space.”

The $32m development at Gosford Private Hospital is expected to be fully completed by mid-2021 and will include Day Surgery, Reception, Recovery, Meeting Rooms and Maternity Ward.
