Associate Professor Denis Crimmins was trained at Sydney University and has been working on the Central Coast of NSW since 1990. He has been and continues to be a Consultant Neurologist at Gosford Private, Gosford and Wyong Hospitals.
He established the Neuroscience department for the Central Coast and was head of the department for over 15 years. He was also the Director and founding board member of Stroke Services NSW and has held national leadership roles in the Stroke Society of Australasia.
Professor Crimmins has been involved in many research projects both Nationally and Internationally in Stroke, MS, Dementia and Parkinson's Disease. He holds a clinical academic chair with the Medical School of the University of Newcastle.
His vision and wish for the neurological patients of the Central Coast is to be able to provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, equitable and fair medical service. A Service which allows all patients to receive the best of care without having to leave the Central Coast and travel to Sydney. This should involve all health service providers on the coast, all levels of government, attracting to the coast the best health professionals and providing cutting level neuroscience research.
