New Era for Neurosurgery launched on the NSW Central Coast
Gosford Private Hospital has welcomed a world-first technology to the Central Coast, with the introduction of the Neurologia BodyTom 64. The cutting-edge portable CT scanner provides real-time, high-resolution imaging during surgical procedures, enabling surgeons to make immediate and informed decisions, while ensuring individualised patient care with unrivalled accuracy.
Gosford Private Hospital Chief Executive Officer, Michael Mitchell, has welcomed the hospital’s newest addition “We are very pleased to upgrade the BodyTom to the latest version. Gosford Private Hospital can continue to provide the best possible care to the residents of the Central Coast and beyond.”
In addition to a personalised approach to treatment, patients will benefit from significantly improved recovery times and better post-operative outcomes without the need to leave the Central Coast.
This world-first installation is revolutionising the way neurosurgery is performed, under the expertise of renowned local Neurosurgeon, Dr Marc Coughlan.
Dr Marc Coughlan has said “we are very fortunate to have a dedicated team of intraoperative radiographers that were familiar with the workflow of the previous BodyTom and were able to take the next step with enhanced clarity and accuracy in a world first new 64 slice CT.”
“At Gosford Private Hospital, we aim to drive innovation in healthcare and deliver cutting-edge solutions that empower our local healthcare professionals. Providing world class facilities and care with some of Australia’s best surgeons,” said Mr Mitchell.
