Gosford Private Hospital is the first hospital on the central coast to have the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution. The VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution helps surgeons perform knee replacement surgery that is tailored to each patient, and is designed to provide digital precision and accuracy to get patients back to the things they love.

The VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution is a first-of-its-kind operating table mounted solution that adapts to the surgeon’s workflow. It is designed to help surgeons accurately resect bones that align and position the implant relative to the soft-tissue during total knee replacement. The VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution uses an infrared camera and optical trackers to help surgeons gather the necessary patient anatomy data to position the implant in real time1.

“The hospital has worked closely with our orthopaedic surgeons to introduce the VELYS ROBOTIC-ASSISTED SOLUTION. The hospital is committed to providing patients access to the latest medical technology” said Michael Mitchell CEO Gosford Private Hospital.

The VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution is accompanied by the latest in medical training technology for the surgical team. Nurses supporting VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution procedures at Gosford Private Hospital have had the opportunity to train using Virtual Reality technology.

VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution utilises technology to aid the surgeon as they plan for and execute a precise knee replacement personalised for a patient’s specific anatomy. This robotic-assisted device does not move or operate on its own.
