Dr Joe Taylor is an experienced Medical Oncologist and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based cancer care. He lives on the Central Coast with his wife and young children and is committed to supporting patients within the local community.

Dr Taylor began his training in the United Kingdom at the University of Southampton completing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in 2006, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Birmingham. After completing his training, he worked at Sandwell General Hospital for a number of years before relocating to Australia in 2015.

Since moving to Australia, Dr Taylor has worked across a range of hospitals including; Gosford Hospital, Wyong Hospital, Calvary Mater Newcastle, Tamworth Hospital, St George Hospital, Sutherland Hospital and Nowra Hospital. During this time he has gained extensive experience in managing a broad range of malignancies. He regularly contributes to the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) cancer meetings at Gosford Hospital for; breast, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, melanoma/skin and lung cancers. He is also part of the gynaecological cancer MDT for Royal North Shore Hospital.

Dr Taylor is actively involved in research and medical education. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, presented at national and international conferences, and serves as a Conjoint Lecturer in Medicine with the University of Newcastle.

Known for his empathetic and clear communication style, Dr Taylor explains complex treatments in a way that is easy to understand and ensures patients and their families feel supported at a very difficult time in their lives. He is committed to delivering personalised care, tailoring evidence-based treatment plans to align with each patient’s individual needs and values.

Outside of medicine, Dr Taylor enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, playing soccer, and playing the drums.
