Nursing Scholarship opportunities now open
Are you keen to be part of the next generation of Central Coast Nurses? There are a range of opportunities currently available for a limited time only at Healthe Care Central Coast.
When Emily, 22 of Erina Heights decided to apply in 2019 to be considered as a recipient for the 2020 Healthe Care Central Coast Scholarship she had very little medical knowledge or background.
Guided only by an interest in caring for others which came naturally, Emily applied and was ultimately successful.
She has since gone on to complete her qualifications as an Enrolled Nurse despite completing her training and learning during an unprecedented pandemic.
"Becoming a nurse in such a difficult period of time had many challenges, but all the challenges faced were overcome with the support from everyone around me," she said.
"I was so grateful to have such a great team at the hospital to guide me through everything. Everyone was so patient and my advice for future students would be work as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) during your study if you can because you can so much extra useful knowledge working in that clinical setting.
"Also never be afraid to ask for help or support, everyone is so happy to help you if you show them you are keen and always be open to gaining friendships and finding the fun along the way.
"I have learnt so very much, met so many beautiful nurses and was able to put everything into practice and I had the best time doing it all!"
Applications are now open for six Healthe Care Central Coast Diploma of Nursing Scholarships.
