Calling for the next generation of Central Coast Nursing Professionals

Are you a Nursing Graduate looking for an opportunity to get your foot in the door and build up your clinical experience? Look no further than the 2022/23 Healthe Care Central Coast Graduate Program.

Healthe Care Central Coast are currently looking for the next generation of up and coming nursing graduates to join the 2022-23 Nursing Graduate Program.

The 12 month program provides newly graduated nurses with the opportunity to get practical clinical experience with patients and other health professionals through intensive placements which grow their skills across multiple areas.

Specifically for students who are in their final year of Bachelor of Nursing studies or who are completing their Diploma of Nursing, the Program is looking to on-board up to 10 nurses with a second intake likely in mid-2022.

According to Healthe Care Central Coast’s Regional Learning and Development Co-ordinator, Craig Martin, the Nursing Graduate Program provides the ideal start for nursing students in preparation for entering the clinical workforce upon graduation.

“We are incredibly fortunate to be able to offer recently graduated nurses the unique opportunity to participate in placements at all three of our Hospitals including Brisbane Waters, Gosford and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospitals,” Mr Martin said.

“As we continue to grow as a service we are keen to re-invest in the emerging professional health care talent in the region and provide Central Coast Nursing students with the opportunity to work across a number of streams including general, perioperative and mental health.”

According to Jess, 25, of Kanwal who was part of the 2020/21 program and completed her New Graduate Program at Gosford Private Hospital, it was the ideal next step to gaining permanent employment.

" The whole experience has been invaluable, I learnt so much during my rotations and I’d recommend it to anyone who is completing their nursing course and wants to get a foot in the door and learn on the ground,” She said.

“I have since been able to secure employment as an Enrolled Nurse (EN) following the conclusion of my program, which means I can work in an area I love and has given me the opportunity to increase my skills and confidence.”

It’s not too late to join the group of 2022/2023 students.
