In this International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, we are not only celebrating the Nurses and Midwives who have dedicated years to perfect their craft, but also those nurses who are especially new to the profession.
At Gosford Private Hospital, we endeavour to create a supportive and nurturing environment, ensuring our Graduates continue to expand their skills and further develop best practice.
We provide a space for those who are either a new graduate Enrolled Endorsed Nurse (EEN), Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM) – giving them direct access to our wide range of experienced nursing, medical and allied health teams.
For those in their first year of nursing in 2020, we will offer them experience in the many clinical areas that we cater for, from our Medical and Surgical Specialty wards to Operating Theatre, Recovery and for some an experience within our Critical Care Unit.
Gosford Private Hospital’s New Graduate Midwifery Program strengthens midwifery skills within a supportive workplace culture. The program inspires collaborative teamwork within all areas including the Birthing Unit, Ante/Postnatal wards, Day Assessment Unit & Special Care Nursery. Knowledge, skills and professional growth is fostered through a robust mentorship program, designed to deliver the highest quality care for the women and families.
This year, Gosford Private Hospital will continue to work closely with educational organisations to offer unique clinical exposure to those learning in the field. For Nurses and Midwives alike, this experience is central to the creation of quick thinking and compassionate nurses.
We asked one of our Registered Nurses who recently completed their New Graduate experience at Gosford Private Hospital his thoughts.
The initial concerns I had about commencing my New Graduate Program were totally alleviated by the wonderful support and encouragement I received from my colleagues in all areas of the program. I was able to achieve my learning outcomes, develop my skills and work towards accomplishing my goals for my future nursing career."
