World first for Ear, Nose and Throat patients at Gosford Private Hospital

Gosford Private surgeon, Dr Indu Gunawardena, has introduced world-leading technology for patients on the Central Coast.

Gosford Private Hospital’s own Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, Dr Indu Gunawardena, has become the first surgeon in the world to use the revolutionary Smith & Nephew Werewolf Coblator to treat patients on the NSW Central Coast.

The new technology is set to deliver quicker procedure times, higher accuracy and minimal bleeding for patients, leading to reduced complications post-operatively and a quicker recovery. The product’s ergonomic design also ensures a positive experience for the surgeon.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to be the first surgeon in the world to use this industry-leading technology. With the introduction of the Werewolf we expect to deliver better outcomes for our patients with less concerns in the recovery period."

"Gosford Private is once again leading the way with this latest advancement, ensuring patients receive a better experience and positive outcomes right here on the Central Coast,” said Dr Gunawardena.

On hand to oversee the procedure were Ryan Harvey, International Marketing Director ENT and Paul Neary-Field, Sales Manager NSW/QLD/NZ for Smith & Nephew.
